About clean.hexalab
A precision web instrument engineered for privacy, metadata transparency, and photographer autonomy.
Mission and Architecture
clean.hexalab was built to provide photographers, designers, journalists, and privacy-conscious creators with an honest, lossless alternative to existing online tools. Most free web tools secretly upload user images to remote cloud servers or degrade quality by re-compressing pictures through the browser's canvas element.
We engineered clean.hexalab with three core principles:
- Zero Server Ingestion: All binary parsing and segment filtering runs inside a client-side Web Worker on your device. No image data is ever transmitted across the network.
- Lossless Rewriting: We never re-encode your image. Compressed pixel streams and entropy scan lines (SOS-to-EOI in JPEG, IDAT in PNG, VP8/VP8L in WebP) are copied bit-for-bit.
- Format and Color Integrity: We preserve embedded ICC color profiles and display orientation tags by default, preventing unintended color shifts or rotated orientations.
